We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join our team and help support the accounting and bookkeeping needs of our companies, with an opportunity to grow into a more primary role looking after the books for our restoration business.

This is an in-office position. We are looking for someone who can work from our office, and remote-only arrangements are not available.

This is a hands-on, behind-the-scenes role for someone who enjoys keeping things organized, working through discrepancies, and making sure things are taken care of properly. You'll work closely with our current bookkeeper, helping with day-to-day bookkeeping, GST and payroll filings, intercompany transactions, year-end preparation, and other accounting tasks.

We're looking for someone with solid bookkeeping experience who is comfortable figuring things out, asking questions when needed, and taking initiative when they notice something that needs attention. You don't need to know everything, but you should be someone who enjoys learning, solving problems, and finding ways to make things run more smoothly.

- Assisting with bookkeeping for multiple companies
- Preparing and filing GST returns and other required filings
- Helping with CRA accounts, notices, correspondence, and follow-up
- Reconciling GST accounts and investigating discrepancies
- Assisting with payroll remittances and related requirements
- Recording and reconciling transactions between companies
- Completing bank, credit card, and other account reconciliations
- Assisting with year-end preparation and gathering information for our accountant
- Reviewing accounts and following up on outstanding items
- Helping research and resolve bookkeeping or CRA-related questions
- Taking on additional bookkeeping responsibilities as you become familiar with our companies




- Identifying areas that need attention and suggesting improvements to our processes

What we're looking for

- Several years of bookkeeping experience
- Experience with QuickBooks Online
- Good working knowledge of GST, payroll remittances, and CRA filing requirements
- Comfortable communicating with CRA and working through questions or discrepancies
- Experience with account reconciliations and intercompany transactions
- Experience working with multiple companies is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
- A practical, problem-solving approach to your work
- Someone who can work independently but is also comfortable asking questions and working as part of a team
- A self-starter who notices what needs to be done and takes initiative
- Someone who is open to learning, sharing ideas, and taking on more responsibility over time

This role will start with working alongside our current bookkeeper and assisting with bookkeeping across our companies. As you become more familiar with our operations and systems, there will be an chance to take on greater responsibility and grow into the primary bookkeeper for our restoration business. We're looking for someone who wants to settle into a role, become familiar with the business, and grow with us over time. You'll have the opportunity to build on your existing experience, develop a strong understanding of our companies, and take ownership of more of the bookkeeping as the role evolves.
