Jimmy Hair Studio & Spa is seeking a talented and experienced Hairstylist to join our skilled salon environment in Kingston, Ontario, through an independent business arrangement. This opportunity is ideal for a hairstylist who is passionate about haircutting, styling, hair colouring, and creating personalized looks that help clients feel confident and look their best.

We offer a chair rental option for CA$1,000 per month or are open to discussing a commission-based arrangement with the right candidate. The ideal professional values creativity, exceptional customer service, and building long-term client relationships.

Responsibilities

- Provide professional hair cutting, styling, colouring, highlighting, and other hair services within your areas of expertise.
- Consult with clients to understand their preferences, hair goals, and maintenance needs.
- Deliver excellent customer service and create a welcoming, professional experience.
- Recommend appropriate hairstyles, colour services, and hair care products based on clients' needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and follow appropriate sanitation and safety procedures.
- Build lasting client relationships through personalized consultations and consistent service quality.
- Manage client appointments and communications professionally as agreed under the independent arrangement.
- Bring and maintain your own professional tools, equipment, and personal supplies.




- Maintain an organized workstation, including the provided styling chair, wall mirror, and workstation with drawers.

Qualifications

- Proven professional experience as a Hairstylist.
- Strong skills in haircutting, styling, and creating personalized looks for clients.
- Experience in hair colouring, highlights, balayage, or advanced colour techniques is an asset.
- Excellent communication, consultation, and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of salon sanitation, disinfection, and safety practices.
- Professional, reliable, organized, and detail-oriented approach.
- Relevant training, qualifications, and insurance, as applicable to the services offered.
- Motivation to develop a loyal clientele and grow an independent business.

Compensation and Arrangement

- Chair rental: CA$1,000 per month.
- Commission-based arrangement: Open to discussion and negotiation.
- Professional tools and equipment are the responsibility of the candidate.
