Help clients gain visibility into, control and optimize cloud, AI and on-premises infrastructure costs.

At CGI Montréal, you will join a team of architects helping clients govern and optimize their technology spending. You will also use generative AI to accelerate analysis, cost modeling and the development of actionable recommendations.

Your future duties and responsibilities

What you will do

- Contribute to RFP responses (FinOps scope, cost estimates and total cost of ownership — TCO — analysis) and client presentations.
- Understand clients’ technical and financial priorities and turn them into clear recommendations for IT, Finance and business leaders.
- Perform FinOps assessments covering billing, architecture, governance and maturity; deliver prioritized recommendations based on potential savings and effort.
- Lead remediation initiatives with client teams, automate optimizations and measure realized savings.
- Advise cloud and solution architects on service selection, pricing models, estimates and architecture scenarios (FinOps by design).
- Optimize multicloud spending across Azure, AWS and GCP through rightsizing, reservations, Savings Plans and forecasting.
- Assess AI workload economics, including model and GPU selection, provisioned capacity versus pay-as-you-go and per-use-case costs, including tokens.
- Include on-premises costs (data centers, virtualization and licensing) in TCO assessments and migration or repatriation scenarios.
- Design FinOps platform components, including cost data collection and normalization (FOCUS), tooling, dashboards and automation.
- Establish and help teams adopt FinOps governance practices: resource tagging, showback, chargeback, budgets and alerts.
- Continuously improve AI-enabled cost analysis and reporting; document methods,



share reusable tools and strengthen the team’s FinOps culture.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

What you bring

- At least 3 years of proven experience in FinOps and cloud cost optimization as a cloud architect, FinOps architect or in a similar role.
- FinOps Foundation certification (Practitioner, ideally Professional), or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience conducting client cost assessments or optimization engagements.
- Strong understanding of Azure, AWS and GCP pricing, AI cost models and on-premises infrastructure economics.
- Regular use of AI tools, with critical evaluation and validation of outputs.
- Ability to present and defend recommendations to technical stakeholders and senior executives.
- Fluency in French and English and ability to work in a hybrid setting in Montréal; English is required for RFPs and client and partner presentations.

Nice to have
- Cloud architect certification (Azure, AWS or GCP) or FinOps for AI certification.
- Familiarity with FOCUS and TBM standards.
- Data and automation skills (SQL, Python, Power BI).
- Experience with Kubernetes and container cost allocation.

Compensation Estimated annual salary range: CAD $90,000–$175,000. Actual compensation depends on factors including experience, skills, the geographic market, education and certifications.
