Overview

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Early Childhood educator to join our team in a full-time role combining Pedagogical Lead responsibilities in the morning with School Age programming in the afternoon.

This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys mentoring educators, supporting high-quality early learning practices, and creating engaging experiences for school-age children.

Schedule

- Morning: Pedagogical Lead responsibilities
- Afternoon: Pedagogical Lead responsibilities -afterschool programs between both Kinderplace sites. (Vance Chapman and Ecole Gron Morgan schools)

Responsibilities: Pedagogical Lead – Key Responsibilities

- Provide pedagogical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to educators in delivering high-quality, developmentally appropriate programming.
- Promote play-based, child-centred, and emergent curriculum approaches that support children's curiosity, agency, and holistic development.
- Guide curriculum planning, observation, pedagogical documentation, and reflective practice to inform meaningful learning experiences.
- Support educators in understanding how children learn through play, exploration, inquiry, relationships, and intentional interactions.
- Model effective teaching strategies and foster critical reflection, collaboration, and ongoing professional growth.
- Support the creation of inclusive, responsive, and engaging learning environments that reflect children's interests, identities, strengths, and needs.




- Collaborate with educators and families to support children's learning, well-being, belonging, and development.
- Ensure pedagogical practices align with How Does Learning Happen?, the ELECT framework, applicable childcare licensing requirements, and centre policies.

Qualifications

- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) or equivalent preferred
- member in good standing with the College of ECE's
- 1-3 years experience in a leadership or mentorship role within licensed childcare
- Strong knowledge of child development, curriculum planning, "How does learning happen?" and the "Elect" tools
- Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team of educators with enthusiasm and clear communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to plan, evaluate, and adapt curriculum activities effectively.
- Experience working with children from diverse backgrounds and abilities is highly desirable.
- Passionate about fostering a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and social skills.

Pay: $21.44-$22.82 per hour Expected hours: 37.5 per week
