We are seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of workplace health and safety programs. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, maintaining safe work practices, coordinating employee training, and promoting a strong culture of safety throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct and maintain the Critical Job Inventory for the facility.
- Coordinate and perform Job Hazard Assessments and develop Safe Work Procedures as required.
- Ensure safe work procedures remain current, relevant, and compliant with legislative requirements.
- Coordinate and facilitate specialized employee training programs, including WHMIS, Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry, Lift Truck Operation, and other safety-related programs.
- Track and maintain employee training records and support management in ensuring certifications and training remain current.
- Conduct workplace risk assessments and identify opportunities to improve workplace safety.
- Notify relevant departments of incidents, near misses, and property damage events, maintain investigation records, and assist in identifying trends and corrective actions.
- Support workplace inspections, audits, and safety observations, providing recommendations for improvement.




- Participate in Joint Safety and Health Committee (JSHC) meetings and complete assigned action items.
- Promote employee engagement and participation in health and safety initiatives.
- Prepare and provide reports to management and regulatory agencies as required.
- Foster positive working relationships with employees, supervisors, and management to support a strong safety culture.
- Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Strong knowledge of the Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Act and Regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Advanced First Aid certification is considered an asset.
- Train-the-Trainer certification is considered an asset.
- Willingness to obtain specialized Health and Safety training and certifications as required.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a rapid-paced environment.
- Positive attitude with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
