Job Summary
North Wolf Construction is looking for a skilled and dependable Heavy Truck Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Tri-Axle trucks, Pony/End Dumps, and other heavy equipment used in our construction operations.
This position requires a hands-on, detail-oriented professional with strong troubleshooting skills and a commitment to safety and reliability.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on trucks and equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, brake service, and tire replacements.
- Perform inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate service records, parts usage, and repair logs.
- Troubleshoot engine, transmission, and suspension systems (Cummins, CAT, Detroit, etc.).
- Ensure all repairs meet MTO safety standards and company requirements.
- Assist with emergency repairs on-site or in the field when needed.
- Keep the shop and tools clean, organized,
and in protected working condition.
Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Heavy Truck/Diesel Mechanic (Tri-Axle or construction fleet experience preferred).
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Experience with diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Must be reliable, safety-focused, and able to work independently.
- Basic computer or diagnostic software skills an asset.
- Own tools preferred.
