Job Summary The IT Technician, under the direction of the IT Manager, will primarily be responsible for providing internal information technology support, such as server security, software updates, and hardware maintenance. This position will troubleshoot errors and fix system issues via periodic testing, IT requests, and other methods.



The IT Technician must possess demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies and a high level of integrity and strong work ethics.

Job Duties
- Provide internal information technology support, such as server security, software updates, and hardware maintenance.
- Troubleshoot errors and fix system issues via periodic testing, help desk tickets, and other methods.
- Assist in the implementation, deployment, and operation of information systems and technology solutions for business needs.
- Perform security and quality control testing.
- Assign usernames and passwords for employees and reset as required.
- Provide orientation and technical advice to employees on existing technology, such as Office 365 (Email, OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint), Cargotel (TMS platform), Geotab (Telematics software).
- Perform in-person, on-site repairs of PC desktop hardware, printers, and other peripherals.
- Monitor service providers.
- Monitor and provide support of software providers and platforms.
- Learn about the TMS platform to ultimately provide support to users for pricing and booking.
- Implement and promote cybersecurity protection and education.




- Other functions may be added to the above as deemed necessary by the Manager.

Education and Experience
- Post-secondary degree in information technology, computer science, computer systems engineering, software engineering, web design, or a field related to the industry or 3 years of related experience.
- Certifications or licenses appropriate to industry.
- Experience with Office 365 and other O365 collaboration tools.
- Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies.
- High level of integrity and work ethic.
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands.
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical members of the organization.
- Eligible to work anywhere in Canada.

Physical Demands
- Ability to walk up to 100 – 200 meters.
- Full ability to stand.
- Ability to sit for more than 1 hour.
- Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 50lbs.
- Ability to view computer screen for long periods of time.

Work Environment
- Operation of desktop computer and peripherals.
- Operation and use of necessary tools, machinery, or equipment.
- Occasional overtime.
- Occasional travel to company locations.
