Nkatyimiwwin Caring and Protection Society Inc. (NCPS) is seeking an initiative-taking, dependable, and hardworking individual to fill the full-time permanent position of Janitor and Grounds Keeper based out of the Kawacatoose First Nation / Quinton location. The successful candidate will work as part of the NCPS team to maintain both the cleanliness of indoor facilities and the upkeep of outdoor grounds, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for staff, children, families, and community members.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Janitorial Duties

Clean and sanitize offices, washrooms, hallways, and common areas.

Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors.

Empty garbage and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly.

Refill soap, paper towels, and other restroom supplies daily.

Clean windows, glass doors, and interior surfaces.





Maintain and keep organized supplies required for site operations and conduct inventory counts as assigned.

Report maintenance issues or safety hazards immediately to the supervisor.

Follow workplace health and safety procedures, WHMIS guidelines, and agency protocols.

Grounds Keeping Duties

Maintain outdoor areas including lawns, walkways, building entrances, and parking lots.

Mow grass, trim edges, and remove weeds around facilities.

Rake leaves and clear debris from grounds.

Shovel snow and apply salt/sand during winter months to ensure secure access.

Water plants, shrubs, and maintain landscaping as needed.

Inspect outdoor areas for safety hazards and conduct duties in varying weather conditions.

Assist with minor outdoor maintenance tasks and facility repairs as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Physical Requirements: Physically fit and able to lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
