Watch & Jewelry Service Technician – Garden City Location

Job Summary

Swift Quartz Watch and Jewelry Repair is seeking a reliable, motivated, and customer-focused Watch & Jewelry Service Technician to join our team at our Garden City retail kiosk in Winnipeg.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling watch and jewelry repair intake, performing watch battery replacements, and assisting customers with retail purchases and service inquiries.

This position combines hands-on technical service with retail sales and customer interaction. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a busy retail environment are essential.

Previous experience in watch battery replacement, jewelry repair intake, or jewelry and watch retail sales will be considered a strong asset. Training may be provided to the right candidate.

Responsibilities

- Greet customers professionally and provide friendly, knowledgeable service.
- Receive watches and jewelry for repair, assess customer concerns, and accurately document repair requests.
- Perform watch battery replacements and other basic watch services within the scope of training and experience.
- Inspect watches and jewelry during intake, noting their condition and any visible damage.
- Explain available repair services, estimated costs, and expected turnaround times to customers.
- Ensure watches and jewelry received for servicing are properly labelled, recorded, stored, and handled with care.
- Assist customers with the selection and purchase of watches, jewelry, watch straps, batteries, and related products.
- Process customer transactions accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash, debit, and credit card payments in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain accurate repair records and follow up with customers regarding repair status and completed services.
- Keep the kiosk clean, organized, secure,



and professionally presented.
- Assist with inventory management, product displays, and restocking merchandise.
- Respond to customer inquiries in person and by telephone, resolving concerns professionally.
- Follow company procedures for handling valuable customer property and maintaining workplace safety.
- Work independently while supporting the overall service and sales objectives of the company.

Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail when handling watches, jewelry, and repair documentation.
- Valuable manual dexterity and willingness to learn basic watch servicing techniques.
- Ability to perform watch battery replacements safely and accurately, or willingness to be trained.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple customer requests.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems.
- Ability to handle cash and process retail transactions accurately.
- Confidence in recommending products and services based on customer needs.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and maintain a professional retail environment.
- Honest, dependable, and responsible when handling customers' valuable belongings.
- Previous experience in watch repair services, jewelry retail, or a similar customer-facing role is an asset.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are considered an asset.
