Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Kitchen Team Member to join our school. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, distributing the high-quality catered meals/snacks to 7 classrooms with proper food handling. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, a strong understanding of food safety standards, and experience working in a restaurant environment. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced setting.

Duties

- Prepare and assemble our meals according to the established menu from the catering company
- Review number of children in each classroom and the food restriction and food sensitivities list/food substitutes for some of the children
- Logging refrigerator/dishwasher temperatures as well as food temperature upon arrival from the caterer
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including sanitizing surfaces and utensils
- Handle food safely and follow proper food handling procedures at all times
- Support the team in meal assembly during busy periods to ensure timely service




- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working workplace
- Assist with inventory, when needed by notifying management of supplies needs

Experience

- Previous experience in a restaurant/school setting or food service environment is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with food handling procedures and kitchen equipment
- Experience in the food industry demonstrates an understanding of fast-paced work environments and customer service expectations
- This individual must hold a valid Food Handlers Certificate, have an up-to-date immunization record (including 2-step TB test) and a valid CPR certificate.

We value reliability (please note our location and your travel time to work), teamwork, and a positive attitude in all our team members. Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
