WHO WE ARE

And Some Flower Cafe is a unique spot in Calgary's Sunnyside neighbourhood, combining a coffee shop, a bakery, and a flower shop under one roof. We are located on 7 Avenue NW, just a short walk from the Peace Bridge and Prince's Island Park. Our menu includes coffee and drinks, bakery items, snacks, and fresh food.

Our customers come for the coffee, stay for the food, and often leave with flowers. We are open long hours, and we are looking for kitchen staff who can help us keep the food side of the café running smoothly.

WHY THIS ROLE IS OPEN

Our café is busy, and our kitchen needs reliable people who can handle both the opening shift and the closing shift. We are looking for someone who can work independently, keep the kitchen organized, and prepare food that matches the quality of everything else we offer. This is an on-site position, and we have both full-time and part-time options available.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Food Preparation and Service

- Prepare menu items according to our recipes and standards
- Handle basic cooking tasks, baking, and assembly of snacks and light meals
- Maintain food quality and presentation
- Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations

Kitchen Operations

- Open or close the kitchen depending on your shift
- Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and compliant with health standards
- Manage inventory and report supply needs
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries

Team Collaboration





- Work with the café team to ensure smooth service
- Support other staff during busy periods
- Communicate clearly about any issues or shortages

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE

- Previous kitchen or food preparation experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person
- Knowledge of basic food safety practices
- Ability to work efficiently and stay organized
- Reliability and punctuality
- Ability to work independently
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed
- Authorization to work in Canada
