Seaside Smile Clinic is looking for a dependable, organized and patient-focused Licensed Dental Assistant (LDA/CDA) to join our growing team in downtown Nanaimo.

This is a minimum 4-day-per-week position, ideally 5 days, and would suit someone looking for a stable, long-term role within a busy, supportive family dental practice.

We are a locally owned and operated clinic with an established and growing patient base. Our team provides a broad range of general and family dentistry in a modern clinical environment, with a strong emphasis on patient comfort, teamwork, efficiency and high-quality care.

Job Summary The successful candidate will work closely with our dentists and clinical team to provide excellent patient care and help ensure smooth day-to-day clinical operations.

We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, compassionate, reliable and comfortable working efficiently in a busy practice while maintaining strong clinical standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Provide chairside assistance during a variety of general and restorative dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and materials for scheduled procedures
- Maintain high standards of sterilization, infection control and clinical cleanliness
- Take digital radiographs and assist with clinical records
- Maintain accurate and complete treatment documentation
- Assist with room turnover and help keep the clinical day running efficiently
- Provide patients with clear,



reassuring communication and post-treatment instructions
- Help educate patients regarding oral health and recommended care
- Anticipate the needs of the dentist and clinical team during procedures
- Monitor and maintain clinical supplies and equipment
- Work collaboratively with dentists, hygienists, assistants and administrative team members
- Assist with other clinical duties as required to support smooth patient flow

Qualifications
- Licensed and in good standing to practise as a dental assistant in British Columbia
- Solid knowledge of dental assisting procedures and infection-control standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized, dependable and attentive to detail
- Comfortable working efficiently in a busy clinical environment
- Professional and reassuring when communicating with patients
- Able to anticipate clinical needs and work effectively as part of a team
- Comfortable using modern dental technology and practice-management systems
- Previous dental assisting experience is an asset

Experience is valued, but finding the right person and team fit is equally important.
