Join our vibrant culinary team as a Line Cook / Prep Cook, where your energy and passion for food will shine! Ben & Florentine is opening in Grande Prairie, and we’re building our founding kitchen team from the ground up. In this dynamic role, you’ll be the backbone of our kitchen, preparing fresh ingredients, cooking delicious breakfast and brunch dishes, and making sure every plate meets our high standards of quality and presentation.
Your enthusiasm for food service and commitment to food safety will help create memorable dining experiences for our guests. This paid position offers an exciting chance to develop your culinary skills in a fast-paced, supportive environment, starting from day one.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Cook a variety of breakfast and brunch menu items with precision, speed, and consistency
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations to ensure food safety and efficiency
- Follow proper food handling procedures to uphold health regulations
- Assist with food prep tasks such as chopping, portioning, and preparing sauces and ingredients
- Support the team during busy service hours by ensuring timely meal preparation
- Adhere to all safety protocols related to kitchen equipment and food handling
- Help us build the kitchen routines and culture that will make this place a local favourite
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or food industry roles is an asset but not mandatory
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Understanding of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards learning and collaboration
- Basic knowledge of meal preparation, kitchen equipment, and sanitation regulations
- Food Handler certification / Food Safe an asset (or willingness to obtain)
