Join our team within the Services division of Sulzer Pumps (Canada) Inc. We have an immediate permanent job opportunity for an experienced Machinist at our Burnaby plant. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

- Journey-person Machinist or trade certificate, or substantial training and experience equivalent to a Red Seal
- Experience on a variety of machine tools to produce a wide range of pump parts with close tolerances. Machine tools will include lathes, milling machines, vertical boring mills, horizontal boring mills, and possibly CNC machines depending on experience. Attention to detail is required, as is working in a team atmosphere.
- Ideally, experience in pump manufacturing with engineered products and quality principles

Candidate must be able to:

- Read blueprints, interpret engineering and sectional drawings
- Demonstrate ability to effectively set-up all or most of the following machines: Engine Lathe, Milling Machine, Radial Drill, Horizontal Boring Mill, Vertical Boring Mill
- Have working knowledge of tool geometry and application
- Have working knowledge of effects of feeds and speeds on alloy materials
- Accurately machine and/or repair pump components to blueprint




- Perform part layout and work independently
- Ability to work overtime as required; shift work is required
- Overhead Crane and forklift training provided, but experience is an asset
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, sectional drawings, and engineered bill of materials an asset
- GibbsCAM experience is an asset, or similar programming software
- Participate in company safety policy.

Education and Experience:

- Trade certification preferred; or combination of experience and education
- Must have ability to measure accurately with precision measuring instruments
- Working knowledge of tool geometry and application
- Working knowledge of effects of feeds and speeds on alloy materials
- Experience in pump manufacturing an asset
- CNC machine tool experience an asset
- Ability to operate all or most of the following machines: Engine Lathe, Milling Machine, Radial Drill, Horizontal Boring Mill, Vertical Boring Mill
