Cannect Mortgage Investment
Corporation (MIC) is a Toronto-based private mortgage lender backed by a community of private investors. We’re a small, close-knit team, which means you’ll work directly with leadership and get hands-on exposure to investing, accounting, mortgage lending and corporate governance from day one. No prior industry experience required. If you’re curious, organized and eager to learn, we’ll teach you the rest.
What you’ll learn to do
- Maintain investor records, including new investments, withdrawals, and account balances
- Prepare monthly investor returns and record them in QuickBooks and reporting programs
- Process borrower payments by creating invoices and recording payments
- Assist team with underwriting and administrative functions
- Keep our mortgage portfolio records up to date
What we’re looking for
- A genuine interest in finance, investing, or mortgages
- Strong attention to detail. You notice when numbers don’t add up.
- Comfort with Excel, plus a willingness to build your skills further
- Transparent, professional written communication
- Strong organization and the ability to manage recurring monthly deadlines
- Discretion with confidential financial information
Nice to have, but not required
- Experience with QuickBooks or other bookkeeping software
- Knowledge of investments and/or accounting
