Maple Leaf Aluminum

Richmond

Maple Leaf Aluminum Ltd. designs, manufactures and installs aluminum and glass railings, window wall and other architectural aluminum products for residential and commercial buildings across Metro Vancouver. We run our own fabrication and installation teams from our facility at 3171 No. 6 Road, Richmond.

We are hiring a Project Manager to run our railing projects from contract award through installation and close-out. This is a hands-on role at a small company: you will split your time between the office, the shop floor and job sites, and roles here are broader than at a large company. Most of your time is project management; the rest is wherever the project needs you. If you prefer a large company with narrowly defined roles, this position may not be the right fit.

What you'll do

- Own multiple concurrent railing projects (aluminum, glass and picket railings for balconies, decks, stairs and common areas) from contract award to deficiency close-out
- Review architectural drawings and site conditions, confirm field measurements, and coordinate shop drawings with our drafting team
- Build and maintain project schedules aligned with shop capacity and site sequencing; report progress weekly
- Manage budgets, change orders, progress billing and extras with general contractors and developers
- Coordinate with GCs, site supervisors and our installation crews to resolve field issues quickly
- Ensure compliance with the BC Building Code guard requirements, WorkSafeBC and company QA procedures
- Work closely with the shop floor, installers and suppliers

What we're looking for

- 5+ years as a Project Manager or senior Project Coordinator in construction; experience with railings, glazing, window wall or other architectural metal and building-envelope products is strongly preferred
- Diploma or degree in construction management, architectural technology, engineering or a related field
- Able to read architectural and shop drawings; working knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Project or similar
- Fluent English; Mandarin strongly preferred for communication with our suppliers and manufacturing partners
- Based in Metro Vancouver and able to work in office in Richmond, with regular visits to job sites
- Legally entitled to work in Canada

What we offer

- CA$85,000 to CA$120,000 per year, depending on experience
- Extended health, dental and vision care
- On-site parking; stable, year-round work on long-term projects
- A small team where you work directly with ownership and decisions are made quickly

Our hiring process A short phone call, a 30-45 minute practical exercise using one of our real project drawings, and an interview with the owner. We will also ask for two references from previous supervisors. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $85,000.00-$120,000.00 per year

Benefits

- Dental care
- Extended health care

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Richmond, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Application question(s):
- Briefly describe your experience with railings, glazing, window wall or other architectural aluminum products (project types, your role, and whether you can read shop drawings and use AutoCAD).

Experience:
- construction project management: 5 years (preferred)

Language:
- Mandarin (preferred)

Work Location: In person
