Position Overview

KTI Utility Services is launching a project in the City of New Westminster and we’re looking for a Red Seal Electrician to join our electric meter installation team. If you’re a self-starter who works well independently and enjoys talking with customers, this is a great fit. You’ll be doing hands-on electrical work with a steady schedule, no heavy construction, and the chance to earn more as you go.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform high-quality installation, maintenance, and technical service for electric meters (approximately 10% indoor and 90% outdoor field environments)
- Accurately audit, verify, and record legacy and new electric meter readings, equipment serial numbers, and technical site data




- Coordinate daily installation schedules and independently manage assigned service accounts to completion while meeting safety, quality, and production targets
- Execute digital data entry and job logging through Electronic Work Orders on mobile handheld devices
- Interact professionally with residents, property owners, and clients, delivering exceptional customer service and clear communication
- Perform thorough quality self-inspections on completed installations to ensure zero-defect outcomes and strict compliance with corporate Health & Safety policies and electrical standards
- Handle additional field service tasks and operational duties as assigned by management

Qualifications & Requirements

- High school diploma / GED is required
- Mandatory Red Seal Electrician certification in good standing
- Solid mechanical aptitude and solid electrical principles, with experience or familiarity in Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems
- Demonstrated experience operating standard hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Physical capability and stamina to stand, bend, or stoop for prolonged periods in both indoor and outdoor settings
- Highly organized self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid driver’s license (minimum Class 7 'N' / Class 5) and a reliable personal vehicle suitable for daily field work
- Active automobile insurance policy containing a Business-Use Endorsement with a minimum of $1,000,000 in third-party liability coverage




- Successful completion of a mandatory clean criminal background check and submission of a satisfactory driver's abstract prior to start date
