Position Summary The Registered Early Childhood Educator will work collaboratively with another RECE within the preschool program to support the development, well-being, and learning of children. The successful candidate will help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Although the current opening is within the Preschool Program, staff are hired to work for the Centre as a whole, and program assignments may change based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

- Work collaboratively with another RECE within the preschool classroom. Develop and implement play-based learning experiences that support children's physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.

- Plan and lead engaging activities including storytelling, music, art, dramatic play, and physical activities. Create and maintain a safe, healthy, and inclusive learning workplace.
- Observe and assess children's development and document learning in accordance with program guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with families regarding children’s progress and experiences.
- Support children in developing self-help skills such as eating, dressing,



and toileting. Build respectful and cooperative relationships with co-workers, school staff, and community partners.
- Collaborate with educators in the Kindergarten and School Age programs when required.
- Follow all policies, procedures, and licensing requirements under the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA).

Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Knowledge of ELECT, How Does Learning Happen? and the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA)
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C Up-to-date immunizations
