Program: Low Barrier Supportive Housing for Women

Schedule: Rotating shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays.

Neighbourhood Works Inc. is seeking compassionate, dependable and dedicated Residential Support Workers for a new supportive housing residence serving up to 6 women transitioning from homelessness, addiction, abuse, exploitation and other challenging circumstances.

This is an opportunity to help create a safe, respectful home where women can access support. build stability and work towards greater independence.

Key Responsibilities

- Build respectful, professional relationships with residents
- Provide trauma-informed, non-judgemental and harm-reduction oriented support
- Assist residents with independent living skills and connections to community resources
- Respond calmly to conflict, emotional distress, and challenging situations
- Maintain household safety, professional boundaries and consistent expectations
- Complete shift notes, incident reports and other required documentation
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and follow or organizational policies

Qualifications

- Education or experience in human services, social services, mental health, addiction services, residential care or a related field
- Strong communication skills,



interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills
- Understanding of trauma-informed care, harm reduction and supportive housing
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, skilled boundaries and sound judgement
- Reliability, flexibility and the ability to work as part of a team

Relevant lived experience with homelessness, addiction, trauma, abuse, exploitation or recovery is considered an asset. First Aid/CPR, naloxone and crisis de-escalation training are also assets. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. A satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check will be required.

Important Staffing Information The residence operated 24/7, with two staff members always required on duty. Successful candidates must be available for rotating shifts, including weekends and statuary holidays.

Compensation, benefits and employment arrangements will be discussed with successful candidates.
