SENIOR EVENT SECURITY TEAM LEAD – SPECIALIZED EVENTS

Complete Security Solutions Inc. (CSS) is seeking an experienced Senior Event Security Team Lead to help build, lead, and grow our specialized Event & Entertainment Security Team.

This is not an entry-level security position and is not intended for applicants whose experience is limited primarily to static guarding, construction sites, residential sites, concierge duties, or routine patrols.

We are specifically looking for someone with experience in:

- Concerts and live entertainment
- Festivals and large public events
- Bars, lounges, and nightclubs
- Licensed venues
- Crowd management
- High-conflict or high-interaction environments
- Patron removals/ejections
- Security incident response
- Leading security personnel during live events

The successful candidate will be expected to personally work event-security shifts alongside the team while acting as the primary CSS Team Lead.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise event-security personnel
- Conduct pre-event briefings and assign positions
- Work frontline security duties alongside staff
- Manage escalated incidents and difficult patron interactions
- Assist with crowd management, access control, and restricted areas
- Support lawful patron removals/ejections when required
- Coordinate with venue representatives and emergency services
- Ensure incidents are properly documented
- Coach and mentor event-security personnel
- Help identify, interview, and assess suitable event guards
- Assist CSS management in building a dependable specialized event-security team
- Help develop future Team Leads and senior event personnel

Required Qualifications

- Valid Alberta Security Services Licence
- Minimum 3 years of direct event, venue, nightclub, bar, concert, festival,



or comparable high-interaction security experience
- Previous Team Lead, Senior Guard, or supervisory experience
- Experience dealing with aggressive, intoxicated, or confrontational individuals
- Experience with crowd management and incident response
- Strong de-escalation and conflict-management skills
- Strong communication and incident-reporting ability
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Availability for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

Strong Assets

- 5+ years of security/event-security experience
- Concert, festival, arena, nightclub, or licensed-premises experience
- AGLC ProTect
- First Aid / CPR / AED
- Professional handcuff/restraint training
- Defensive tactics / use-of-force training
- Experience supervising larger event-security teams
- Experience recruiting, interviewing, or mentoring security personnel
- Existing contacts within Calgary's event, venue, nightlife, or security industry

Significant Holding an Alberta Security Services Licence alone does not qualify an applicant for this position.

We are looking for an Experienced Leader who is comfortable taking responsibility during serious incidents, leading other guards, and personally working frontline event-security duties.

Candidates seeking only static, desk, concierge, or low-interaction security work should not apply for this position.

Compensation

$21.00–$25.00 per hour, based on directly relevant experience, certifications, leadership background, and demonstrated capability.
