Senior Business Development & Design Leader – Corporate Workplace

Compensation: $80,000–$110,000 base salary, depending on experience The Opportunity A confidential search is underway for an established Canadian interior design firm seeking a senior corporate workplace professional to help grow its Calgary presence. This is not a traditional Senior Designer position.

The successful candidate will combine senior-level corporate workplace experience with a demonstrated ability to develop relationships, create opportunities and win new business.

Initially, approximately 80% of the role will focus on business development and relationship building, with the balance focused on design leadership, client relationships and team support.

As the Calgary business grows, so will the role. For the right individual, there is a genuine opportunity to progress.

What You’ll Do

Your immediate priority will be growing the Calgary and Alberta market by:

- Proactively developing new corporate workplace opportunities
- Building and managing a qualified business-development pipeline
- Leveraging your existing Calgary/Alberta professional network
- Developing relationships across commercial real estate, project management, corporate occupiers and contractors
- Following leads and relationships through to qualified opportunities
- Representing the organization within Calgary’s business and industry community
- Working with senior leadership and design teams to convert opportunities into business
- Contributing directly to measurable pipeline and revenue growth

This is an active business-development role. We’re looking for someone comfortable getting into the market, opening doors and creating business, not simply managing existing opportunities. Design & Leadership





Business development is the immediate priority, but you must also have the professional credibility to grow into broader leadership.

You should understand corporate workplace projects from strategy through delivery and be capable of:

- Leading and mentoring design professionals
- Managing senior client relationships
- Supporting project teams, budgets and schedules
- Navigating project and client challenges
- Contributing to hiring, resourcing and team development
- Assuming greater responsibility for the Calgary operation as the business grows

Who We’re Looking For You may currently be a Senior Designer, Senior Team Lead, Design Director, Associate, Principal or hold a comparable senior position.

The strongest candidates will bring:

- Significant senior-level corporate workplace/interior design experience
- Experience within an established interior design or qualified design firm
- Demonstrated success developing relationships and generating new business
- An established Calgary/Alberta professional network
- Relationships within commercial real estate, project management, corporate occupiers and/or contractors
- Experience leading or mentoring design professionals
- Strong client-management and communication skills
- An entrepreneurial mindset and desire to help grow a business

Professional Qualification Successful completion of the NCIDQ examination is strongly preferred. Candidates without NCIDQ who can demonstrate substantial equivalent senior-level corporate workplace/interior design experience, leadership capability and industry credibility will also be considered.
