Position Overview

Join one of Canada’s Top 5 Financial Institutions as a Senior Product Owner / Delivery Lead – Process Transformation . In this strategic role, you will lead high-impact process simplification and operational transformation initiatives across core banking functions.

You will be responsible for identifying operational friction, designing lean future-state solutions, and building rigorous, defensible business cases. Working across cross-functional domains, you will mobilize concepts into actionable work packages, ensure seamless delivery, and present executive-level recommendations to drive measurable enterprise value.

Key Responsibilities

1. Opportunity Identification & Process Simplification

- Lead end-to-end process simplification initiatives by identifying operational friction and bottlenecks.
- Evaluate future-state solutions and build business cases aimed at reducing manual effort, enhancing controls, and unlocking frontline operational capacity.
- Continuously challenge status-quo assumptions and refine the transformation pipeline using data-driven analysis and stakeholder feedback.

2. Benefit Quantification & Governance Alignment

- Conduct detailed workflow analyses, capacity models, and FTE impact assessments to quantify tangible business benefits.
- Validate all financial and operational benefit projections to ensure they are credible, defensible, and strictly aligned with enterprise Finance governance standards.
- Safeguard against duplicate or overstated benefit claims through ongoing monitoring and rigorous validation practices.

3. Cross-Functional Stakeholder Mobilization

- Drive multi-disciplinary discovery and impact assessments across Business, Operations, Technology, Fraud, AML, Lending, and Risk/Control functions.
- Pinpoint high-value opportunities for automation, process centralization, policy modernization, and re-engineering.




- Serve as the bridge between business strategy and execution teams to align dependencies, priorities, and vision.

4. Initiative Delivery & Execution Roadmap

- Mobilize transformation concepts from initial ideation through to final delivery.
- Translate broad problem statements into structured, actionable work packages with clear sizing, milestones, and success metrics.
- Develop, track, and maintain detailed implementation roadmaps to keep cross-functional workstreams on schedule.

5. Executive Communications & Governance

- Synthesize complex operational insights into concise, decision-oriented presentations for executive leadership and steering committees.
- Draft high-quality, executive-ready governance artifacts, business cases, and status reports to facilitate rapid strategic decision-making.

Qualifications & Experience

- Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience as a Product Owner, Delivery Lead, or Senior Business Transformation Consultant, preferably within a Tier-1 Canadian Financial Institution or top-tier management consultancy.
- Domain Knowledge: Broad exposure to core banking domain functions (e.g., Retail/Commercial Operations, Technology, Fraud, AML, Lending, and Risk/Controls).
- Business Case & Financial Acumen: Strong capability in financial modeling, FTE capacity calculations, benefit realization tracking, and alignment with corporate finance governance framework.
- Delivery Frameworks: Proven expertise in Agile/Hybrid project management frameworks, backlog management, and translating strategic goals into execution packages.
- Analytical Mindset: Expert-level skills in process mapping, root-cause analysis, and translating raw operational metrics into actionable data stories.
- Executive Communication: Exceptional verbal and written presentation skills, with a track record of presenting directly to VP+ senior leadership.

Work Environment & Schedule

- Work Arrangement: Hybrid model requiring 2 days per week in office at our Downtown Toronto headquarters, with flexibility for remote work on remaining days.
