Overview The City of Toronto is seeking an experienced Solution Architect / Maximo Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the EWMS Program in delivering work and asset management solutions across the City’s technology environment. This role will lead both the functional and technical aspects of IBM Maximo solution delivery, including configuration, custom development, integrations, mobile solutions, testing, and go-live support.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in IBM Maximo MAS, Maximo Mobile, and Maximo 7.6.x , along with solid experience leading large-scale Maximo implementations in complex enterprise environments. This position requires a hands-on architect who can work closely with City divisions, business stakeholders, and vendors to design, implement, and support scalable Maximo solutions.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

- 15+ years of experience in the design, development, upgrade, documentation, and full lifecycle implementation of Work and Asset Management solutions using:
- IBM Maximo MAS
- Maximo Mobile
- Maximo 7.6.x
- 12+ years of experience leading large-scale IBM Maximo implementations , including:
- project delivery
- system migrations
- testing
- upgrades
- major go-lives
- Mandatory public sector experience
- Strong experience leading development teams and providing technical direction across the full SDLC
- Proven expertise in Maximo solution design , configuration, and post-implementation support




- Experience gathering business requirements and mapping business processes into Maximo-based solutions
- Strong experience with legacy data conversion, data mapping, and data migration
- Hands-on experience with system and application testing , including test case creation, execution, and validation
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across divisions and business units
- Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills

Technical Must-Haves

- Maximo Business Objects and Web Beans ( Java )
- Automation Scripts ( Java, Python, or other scripting languages )
- Maximo Integration Framework (MIF)
- RESTful APIs, GraphQL APIs, and web services
- Git or similar version control tools
- Docker
- BIRT Report design and development
- Dashboarding using BI tools
- Maximo Application Designer
- Strong Oracle SQL and DB2 query/script development skills
- Strong knowledge of Maximo Spatial configuration and ArcGIS
- Experience with Maximo 9.x and 7.6.x
- Experience with Maximo Mobile development and support

Nice to Have

- Experience supporting large enterprise transformation or modernization programs
- Experience working with multiple vendors in a complex delivery environment
- Ability to provide recommendations on new technology trends and best practices for future improvements
- Strong ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines, and cross-functional dependencies
