Overview

We are seeking a Structural Engineering Technologist with advanced Revit skills and strong experience in the design and detailing of wood, concrete, and steel structures. The ideal candidate can translate structural concepts into accurate, coordinated models and construction drawings while contributing to structural design under the direction of a professional engineer.

This role is suited to a detail-oriented professional who takes initiative, manages competing priorities, and delivers high-quality work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

- Structural Modelling and Drafting: Develop and maintain Revit structural models and construction drawings, including foundations, framing plans, sections, connections, and details.
- Structural Design Support: Assist with the analysis, design, and detailing of wood, reinforced concrete, and structural steel systems under the direction of a professional engineer.
- Drawing Coordination: Coordinate structural drawings with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and civil documents to identify and resolve conflicts.
- Quality Control: Review models and drawings for accuracy, completeness, constructability, and consistency with project requirements and applicable codes and standards.
- Project Support: Assist with specifications, design revisions, responses to requests for information, and shop drawing reviews.
- Revit Standards: Develop and maintain Revit families, templates, and drafting standards to improve consistency and efficiency.
- Workload Management: Organize assigned work, communicate progress, and meet project deadlines with minimal supervision.

Qualifications and Skills

- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Structural Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.




- Advanced proficiency in Revit, and other Autodesk software such as AutoCAD with demonstrated experience producing coordinated structural models and construction drawing packages.
- Practical experience in the design and detailing of wood, concrete, and steel structures, including foundations, framing systems, and connections.
- Strong understanding of structural behaviour, load paths, construction methods, and constructability.
- Familiarity with applicable Canadian building codes and structural design standards.
- Ability to interpret engineering calculations, sketches, and markups and translate them into transparent, accurate construction documents.
- Robust problem-solving, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while recognizing when engineering input or clarification is required.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, contractors, and clients.
- Experience with structural analysis and design software is an asset.
- Registration, or eligibility for registration, as a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) is an asset.
