Gridwise Engineering is a growing power engineering consultancy, based in Metro Vancouver area delivering engineering services to power utility and industrial clients in Canada.

We are currently looking for an Substation Electrical Engineer-in-Training focusing on substation protection and control (P&C;) design. If you are self-driven and have a keen interest in electrical power systems and relaying, this is the opportunity for you. You will have the opportunity to work alongside a very talented and experienced group of professional engineers and develop your skills as a young engineer.

Our team of engineers are known in the industry in BC and beyond for their considerable knowledge.

Job Requirements:

- You will be supporting our senior engineers to develop Electrical and Physical design for power utility and industrial substations from voltage levels ranging from 25kV to 230kV.
- You will prepare engineering drawings such as equipment layouts, sections, conduit and grounding details, equipment specifications, connection details and material lists under the supervision of our senior engineers.
- You will have the opportunity to travel to client sites across Canada and panel shops for engineering site visits and factory acceptance tests.





Required Qualifications:

- Electrical Engineering Degree from a recognized university along with an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) designation or the ability to register as an EIT with EGBC
- 1-2 years of engineering work experience will be preferred. Fresh engineering graduates with relevant co-op experience who have passion for power engineering will be considered too.
- Proficiency in using AutoCAD for design and drafting will be considered favourably
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A valid BC class 5 drivers license
- Ability to work in a team environment and on their own initiative as required
