We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Surveyor Assistant to support our field surveying team. This role involves assisting with daily field work tasks to ensure accurate survey results. The ideal candidate will have an interest in working outdoors with a willingness to learn and grow within our team. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in surveying field operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist surveyors in collecting field data using various surveying instruments and techniques
- Perform basic data entry, quality checks, and record keeping for survey projects
- Support the team in maintaining equipment calibration and ensuring safety protocols are followed during fieldwork
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met efficiently
Qualifications
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and carry out physical tasks as needed
- A proactive attitude with a desire to learn current skills in survey technology, legal surveying and construction surveying
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and communication skills
- Construction experience or familiarity with surveying processes is an asset but not required
- Prior experience or coursework related to surveying is advantageous but not required
- Basic knowledge of or past experience with CAD software is an asset but not required
Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
