Overview

SUSHI MURA LOUGHEED is seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess solid leadership skills, extensive food preparation knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee kitchen operations, ensure food quality and safety, and contribute to the restaurant's success in a fast-paced, hospitality-focused environment.

Duties

- Supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food quality.
- Prepare and cook a variety of sushi dishes, as well as other Japanese cuisine items, maintaining authentic flavors and presentation.
- Manage food handling procedures in compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
- Oversee food safety protocols, including proper storage, cleanliness, and hygiene practices.
- Lead and train kitchen staff, fostering teamwork and professional development.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Maintain inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock to minimize waste.




- Ensure adherence to restaurant policies, health regulations, and safety guidelines.
- Assist in menu development and innovation to enhance customer satisfaction.

Skills

- Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or food service environment.
- Extensive food preparation and cooking skills, especially in sushi and Japanese cuisine.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience managing kitchen teams.
- Knowledge of food handling safety standards and sanitation practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Background in restaurant management or hospitality is highly desirable.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with staff and ensure smooth operations.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Passion for culinary excellence and customer service excellence within the food industry.

Pay: $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 – 30.0 per week
