About the Role

Our client, a key player in the Logistics & Warehousing sector, is seeking a motivated and experienced Warehouse Team Leader to oversee operations at their Kimberley, Northern Cape facility. This role is integral to the daily functioning of the warehouse, requiring strong leadership skills to guide a team of warehouse operatives in executing tasks efficiently and safely. The Team Leader will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of warehouse operations, from receiving and storage to picking and dispatch, are managed effectively. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to motivate teams, a thorough understanding of warehouse processes, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of productivity and safety. Key Responsibilities

- Lead, guide, and motivate a team of warehouse operatives to achieve daily operational goals.
- Oversee the accurate and effective execution of all warehouse tasks, including goods receipt, put-away, order picking, packing, and dispatch.
- Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental procedures within the warehouse.
- Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and assist in training recent team members.
- Maintain stock accuracy through regular checks and participate in stocktaking activities.
- Ensure warehouse organization and cleanliness standards are met.




- Operate warehouse equipment safely and responsibly as needed.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse supervisors and management regarding operational status and any issues.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
- Resolve day-to-day operational issues and escalated complex problems to management.

Requirements

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a warehouse environment, with at least 1 year in a team lead or supervisory capacity.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Good knowledge of warehouse operations, including inventory management and order fulfillment.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations relevant to warehouse environments.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using warehouse equipment and basic computer systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be physically fit and able to handle manual tasks.
- Reliability and a strong sense of responsibility.
