Join a high-performing finance team supporting critical year-end reporting activities within a large financial services workplace. This role focuses on month-end close, journal entries, financial reporting, annual reporting, and variance analysis with exposure to balance sheets and income statements. The position offers visibility across senior finance stakeholders and the opportunity to contribute process improvement and automation ideas. Candidates will work alongside experienced finance professionals in a fast-paced reporting environment.

Location: Toronto/Hybrid ( Every Wednesday & Thursday and 4th Friday)

Duration: 2 Months (Chance of Extension)

Must Have Requirement:

- 5+ years of accounting and/or financial analysis experience.
- Strong background in accounting, financial statements, and variance analysis.
- Experience with month-end close processes.
- SAP experience (required).
- Experience preparing financial reporting packages and annual reporting.
- Ability to work independently and hit the ground running.
- Exceptional attention to detail.

Nice to Have:

- CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA.
- Big 5 Bank or financial services experience.
- Financial reporting and analysis experience.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Power Query.
- Power Automate.
- Alteryx.
- Experience identifying process efficiencies and workflow enhancements

Responsibilities

- Prepare and post journal entries
- Support month-end and year-end close activities
- Perform variance analysis on income statements and balance sheets
- Assist with annual reporting deliverables
- Generate and analyze financial reports from SAP
- Review financial information for accuracy and completeness
- Collaborate with onshore and offshore finance teams
