As a Senior Applied AI Engineer, you will lead major projects for Maestro, nesto’s AI underwriting and lending engine. Apply LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, structured extraction, and strong API skills to production workflows. Your work will combine software engineering, data science, and model evaluation across the full lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead major features and projects from design through delivery
- Optimize agentic workflows combining rules, LLMs, and embedding search
- Build evaluation pipelines with golden sets and regression tracking
- Shape AI platform architecture through reviews and collaboration
- Mentor peers and support delivery timelines
Requirements:
- Five or more years of qualified software development experience
- Strong Python, backend, and API development skills
- Hands-on production experience with LLMs and structured extraction
- Background in data science, data analysis, or statistics
- Experience leading projects or technical initiatives
