JA Northern Alberta (JANorthAB)

Edmonton

At Junior Achievement of Northern Alberta (JA), we believe in the potential of young people. Through hands-on learning in financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship, we help students build the skills and confidence they need for their futures. Behind that impact is a community of donors, sponsors, volunteers and partners who believe in our mission — and a great team making sure those relationships are supported exceptionally well. We’re looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Fund Development Coordinator who loves bringing order to complexity, creating great experiences for people and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. If you’re the kind of person who gets satisfaction from a clean database, a well-run event, a thoughtful donor thank-you and a perfectly prepared meeting package, this could be a excellent role for you.

About the Role
As JA’s Fund Development Coordinator, you’ll be the operational backbone of our fundraising and donor engagement work. You’ll report to our Director of Development and alongside the broader Revenue & Relationships team to keep fundraising activity organized, donor relationships well supported and our systems running smoothly. This is a diverse role. One day you might be preparing materials for an important donor meeting, the next coordinating an event, updating Salesforce, tracking sponsorship commitments or making sure a longtime JA supporter receives a thoughtful stewardship touchpoint. At the centre of it all is one goal: helping JA build strong, lasting relationships with the people who make our work possible. What You’ll Do Keep Our Fundraising Operation Running Smoothly
• Serve as the primary administrator for Salesforce, keeping donor, sponsor and prospect information accurate and up to date.
• Maintain agreements, pledge schedules, renewal dates and fundraising records.
• Look for ways to make our systems and processes smarter and more efficient. Create a Great Donor Experience
• Coordinate donor stewardship throughout the year, including thank-you communications, impact reports, recognition and special touchpoints.
• Coordinate donor meetings, stewardship visits and follow-up.
• Keep relationship history and stewardship activity current in Salesforce.
• Provide warm, professional and responsive service to donors, sponsors, volunteers, Board members, Laureates and community partners. Help Bring Fundraising Campaigns to Life

• Support fundraising campaigns with well-maintained donor lists.
• Coordinate grant administration and deadlines.
• Support community-led and third-party fundraising initiatives.
• Help identify and track prospects and follow-up opportunities coming out of campaigns and events. Make Great Events Happen You’ll help coordinate fundraising and stewardship events from invitation to follow-up, including:
• Registration, invitations and RSVP management.
• Venues, catering, suppliers and event logistics.
• Attendee lists, seating plans, name badges, signage and materials.
• Event timelines and production schedules.
• On-site support and troubleshooting.
• Post-event stewardship and prospect follow-up. You’ll also play an important role in supporting JA’s Business Hall of Fame and Board of Governors, helping coordinate events, maintain records and create meaningful stewardship experiences for some of JA’s longest-standing supporters. Keep Leadership Prepared
• Provide calendar and scheduling support to the President & CEO, with a particular focus on donor, partner, community and development-related meetings.
• Coordinate meetings from start to finish, including scheduling, invitations, room bookings, catering, technology and other logistics.
• Track action items, commitments and follow-up to help ensure important relationships and opportunities keep moving forward.
• Provide administrative and meeting support to the Board of Directors, including coordinating meeting logistics, preparing and distributing materials, and supporting Board-related communications and follow-up.
• Support the preparation of Board reports, fundraising updates, presentations and other executive materials. About You You’re organized, dependable and genuinely enjoy helping people. You’re comfortable working behind the scenes, but you understand that excellent administration is really about creating an excellent experience for others. You’ll thrive in this role if you:

• Are exceptionally organized and can manage multiple deadlines and priorities without losing the details.
• Enjoy systems, processes and finding better ways to keep things organized.
• Communicate warmly and professionally with a wide range of people.
• Take pride in accuracy and follow-through.
• Are comfortable coordinating meetings, projects and events.
• Enjoy working as part of a collaborative team and helping others be successful.
• Are confident using technology and databases; Salesforce experience would be a strong asset.
• Can exercise discretion and good judgment when working with donor and confidential information.
• Are someone who sees what needs to be done and takes initiative to make it happen.
• Fundraising or charitable-sector experience would be an asset. Why You’ll Love Working Here At JA Northern Alberta, the work happening behind the scenes directly helps create opportunities for thousands of young people. You’ll also enjoy:
• Meaningful work: Your work helps build the relationships and resources that make JA programs possible.
• Great people: Work with donors, volunteers, business and community leaders and a team that cares deeply about JA’s mission.
• Variety: Fundraising, events, donor stewardship, systems, special projects — very few days will look exactly the same.
• A chance to make things better: We value people who see opportunities, take initiative and help us continuously improve.
•

Benefits:
Health Spending Account, life insurance and RRSP matching.
• Time to recharge: Paid December break and a compressed 35-hour work week. Base

Salary:
$45,000-$50,000 per year, depending on experience. There is seasonal variation of hours and workload related to program delivery requirements. Working evenings and some weekends will be required.
