Senior Business Analyst – Physical Commodities & Inventory Management

Toronto, Ontario Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 1–2 days onsite per week Employment Type: Contract Position: Senior Business Analyst / Business Systems Analyst Industry: Banking, Capital Markets & Commodity Trading Job Overview MSZ Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst specializing in Physical Commodities Trading and Inventory Management . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with physical commodities, commodity inventory systems and new application development projects. This role requires close collaboration with trading desks, operations, technology teams and business stakeholders to design, develop and implement applications supporting physical commodity trading and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities
• Gather, analyze and document business and functional requirements for physical commodities trading and inventory management applications.
• Work closely with commodity traders, operations, settlements and technology teams.
• Participate in new application development projects from requirements gathering through production implementation.
• Analyze inventory movements, storage, deliveries, transfers, inventory balances and reconciliation.
• Develop BRDs, FRDs, functional specifications, user stories and process flow diagrams.
• Define current-state and future-state business processes and identify opportunities for automation.
• Collaborate with development teams on application design, integrations, interfaces and data flows.
• Support commodity trade capture, scheduling, logistics, settlement and reconciliation.




• Perform functional testing, system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Support production rollout, issue resolution and post-implementation activities. Mandatory Requirements
• 8+ years of Business Analysis or Business Systems Analysis experience, preferably in Capital Markets or commodity trading.
• Direct experience with physical commodities trading, such as precious metals, base metals, crude oil, refined products or natural gas.
• Hands-on physical inventory management experience, including inventory balances, stock movements, storage, deliveries and reconciliation.
• Experience working on new application development projects, ideally from requirements gathering through implementation.
• Robust understanding of the end-to-end physical commodities trade lifecycle.
• Experience working with trading desks, operations, settlements and IT teams.
• Strong BRD, FRD, user story, process mapping and functional specification skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management, analytical and communication skills. Preferred Skills
• Experience with CTRM/ETRM platforms such as OpenLink Endur, Findur, RightAngle, Allegro, TriplePoint, Eka or Murex.
• Physical precious metals inventory, allocated/unallocated metals, vault management or commodity leasing experience.
• SQL, API integrations, data mapping and reconciliation.
• Experience implementing or enhancing commodity inventory management modules.
• Previous experience with BMO, RBC Capital Markets, TD Securities, Scotiabank or CIBC.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
