Unit Profile: The Satellite Health Facility (SHF) is an extension of St.



Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and is located at 150 King Street. The SHF is a temporary off-site hospital facility where non-acute patients will continue to receive health care while they prepare to transition to other services or community-based facilities such as retirement or long-term care homes. This unit is committed to providing high quality care to a diverse spectrum of patients with simple to complex medical issues. Patients are transferred to the SHF once the patient have been deemed medically reliable and are awaiting
