The Chance

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Underwriter to support the continued growth of its commercial insurance business in Ontario. This is a remote opportunity for an experienced Ontario-based underwriter who brings strong technical expertise, local market knowledge, and established broker relationships.

The successful candidate will become an important technical underwriting resource in the Ontario market, working closely with business development leadership to evaluate opportunities, support broker relationships, and help expand the organization’s commercial presence across the province.

This role offers the opportunity to combine hands‑on commercial underwriting with broader market involvement.



You will have meaningful autonomy, exposure to a diverse commercial portfolio, and the opportunity to support the continued development of a growing Ontario operation.

Candidates throughout Ontario are encouraged to apply. The role does not need to be based specifically in the Greater Toronto Area.

In this role, you will:

Assess, price, negotiate, and structure commercial property and casualty risks in accordance with established underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.

Underwrite a diverse commercial portfolio that may include commercial property and liability, realty, manufacturing, hospitality, construction and course of construction, professional lines, and other commercial exposures.

Manage both new business and renewal accounts.

Evaluate opportunities originating through broker and business development relationships within the Ontario market.

Take ownership of the underwriting process from submission review and risk assessment through quoting, binding, policy documentation, and
