About Stem Health

Stem Health is reimagining the primary care experience for individuals who want a more thoughtful relationship with their health. Physician-led and membership-based, we combine medical excellence with the warmth of hospitality anchored in a beautifully designed flagship clinic at First Canadian Place, opening September 2026. Our care model is relationship-based, data-informed, and built on time, trust, and exceptional service.

Position Summary

Stem Health believes that true preventive care begins with understanding how the body actually moves, performs, and adapts. We are looking for a skilled and scientifically grounded Kinesiologist to bring that understanding into our clinical model translating objective movement and fitness data into meaningful, actionable health insights for each member.

In this role, you will conduct comprehensive movement, biomechanical, and cardiorespiratory fitness assessments including VO2 max testing aligned with AHA clinical recommendationsand develop individualized exercise and performance programs that form part of each member's broader health picture. You will be embedded in an interdisciplinary clinical team, collaborating with physicians, physiotherapists, and allied health providers to ensure your findings are integrated into the member's Unified Health Story. This is an invitation to practice kinesiology with the depth, time, and clinical context it deserves.

Key Responsibilities

Biomechanical and movement assessment

- Conduct comprehensive biomechanical and functional movement assessments to identify movement patterns, compensations, and injury risk factors.

- Administer validated movement screening tools (including FMS and related protocols) to establish baseline function and guide individualized programming.
- Analyze gait, posture, joint mechanics, and movement efficiency across a range of activities relevant to each member's lifestyle and health goals.
- Communicate findings clearly to members translating complex biomechanical observations into accessible, actionable language.

Cardiorespiratory fitness, VO2 max, and stress testing

- Administer maximal and submaximal cardiopulmonary exercise tests (CPET), including VO2 max assessments, using the Cosmed metabolic cart in accordance with ACSM guidelines and AHA recommendations for cardiorespiratory fitness as a clinical vital sign.
- Conduct ECG-monitored exercise stress tests under physician oversight preparing members, monitoring physiological responses throughout, and flagging clinical concerns to the physician team in real time.
- Interpret CPET results including VO2 max, VT1/VT2 thresholds, and cardiovascular response data in the context of each member's overall health status, age-matched norms, and long-term cardiovascular risk profile.
- Collaborate with the physician team to ensure cardiorespiratory and stress testing data is integrated into clinical decision-making,

preventive care planning, and longitudinal health tracking.
- Maintain Cosmed equipment calibration, quality control procedures, and testing workplace standards to ensure reproducible, clinically reliable results across all assessments.

Resting metabolic rate (RMR) testing

- Administer resting metabolic rate assessments using Cosmed indirect calorimetry, ensuring correct pre-test conditions (fasting, rest, thermoneutral environment) are met for accurate measurement.
- Interpret RMR results in the context of each member's body composition, age, activity level, and metabolic health identifying discrepancies between measured and predicted metabolic rate that may reflect thyroid dysfunction, chronic dieting, or other clinically relevant metabolic adaptations.
- Integrate RMR data into each member's Unified Health Story, collaborating with the physician team and nutrition support staff to guide energy intake targets, weight management strategies, and metabolic health programming.
- Communicate RMR findings clearly to members translating indirect calorimetry data into practical, actionable guidance on metabolism, energy balance, and the role of body composition in long-term metabolic health.

Exercise prescription and program design

- Develop evidence-based, individualized exercise programs grounded in biomechanics, physiology, and each member's specific health goals whether that is injury prevention, longevity, athletic performance, chronic disease management, or general wellbeing.
- Design progressive training plans that
