Our financial services client is seeking a Desktop Engineer (6+ years) to resolve Windows 11 compliance issues using PowerShell automation and patch management- 58853

Join a core infrastructure team supporting enterprise Windows device compliance and remediation initiatives within a banking environment. This role focuses on troubleshooting non-compliant devices, automating recurring fixes through PowerShell, and supporting patching, driver updates, and Windows 11 upgrades. The position includes both project-based and BAU work with long-term contract potential and possible extension. The team offers flexibility in scheduling and onsite expectations.

Location: Toronto/Hybrid - 2 Days a Week on site

Duration: 18 Months

Must Haves

- 6+ years in desktop support or workstation maintenance focused on patch management and compliance remediation
- Advanced support and troubleshooting of Windows 11 , including OS configurations, patching, and driver management
- Proficiency developing automation scripts using PowerShell for maintenance and compliance tasks
- Hands-on work with endpoint management platforms such as Intune or SCCM
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience)

Nice to Have

- CompTIA A+, CompTIA ITF+, or Microsoft Certified: Contemporary Desktop Administrator Associate certifications
- Understanding of security compliance requirements for device management
- Familiarity with automation frameworks

Responsibilities





- Diagnose and resolve compliance issues related to OS patching, Office patching, driver updates, and system configurations
- Analyze root causes of non-compliant devices and implement corrective actions
- Develop and implement PowerShell automation scripts to address recurring compliance issues
- Test and deploy automated solutions supporting patching, driver updates, and maintenance tasks
- Monitor and apply Windows OS updates, Office patches, and device driver updates
- Support Windows 11 upgrades and device configurations to meet compliance standards
- Provide advanced support for escalated patching, driver, and compliance-related issues
