About the Position

Reporting to the Treasurer and Director of the Finance Department , the Assistant Treasurer and Assistant Director of the Finance Department is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Municipality's accounting and financial operations. This position serves as the Municipality's senior accounting skilled, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective internal controls, regulatory compliance, and efficient financial processes.

Working closely with the Treasurer, the Assistant Treasurer oversees accounting operations, budget support, financial reporting, taxation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll oversight, treasury functions,



and the annual audit. The incumbent provides operational leadership to the Finance Department and acts on behalf of the Treasurer when delegated.

Work Schedule

35 hours per week
Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting and Financial Operations

- Manage the Municipality's daily accounting operations.
- Oversee the General Ledger and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, taxation, utility billing, and cash receipting functions.
