Toronto-based Associate Underwriter supporting Cyber, Technology, and Fintech insurance through analytical underwriting and broker relationships across Canada. At Markel Canada, you will work with the AVP of Cyber and the TCF team. The position focuses on Cyber and Technology E&O;, while also supporting Management Liability and Crime within Markel’s Fintech offering. You will underwrite new business and renewals according to authority levels and established guidelines. The work also includes improving processes, products, data quality, and underwriting administration while supporting Markel’s specialty approach.

Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite new business and renewals profitably
- Determine classifications, rates, and premium charges
- Apply coverage forms, policy language,



and exclusions
- Build relationships with existing and current brokers
- Manage aggregations and controls limiting Markel’s exposure

Requirements:
- Detailed understanding of the insurance market
- One to three years of relevant insurance experience preferred
- Strong numerical, analytical, and communication abilities
- Excellent Microsoft Word and Excel skills
- Up to twenty-five percent travel; bilingual preferred Apply cyber underwriting, analytical judgment, and broker relationship skills within Markel Canada’s Toronto-based TCF team.
