Post Office Assistant (Term)

Canada Post is currently seeking an on‑call Post Office Assistant (Term) in Saint‑Donat‑de‑Montcalm, QC (also covering Lantier). This role involves providing counter services to customers with a customer‑focused approach.

Job Responsibilities

- Sell postal products and services to the business community and public
- Sort, distribute and process mail into appropriate classifications
- Provide customers with information and forms
- Address delivery and service difficulties to resolve problems thoroughly and quickly
- Handle cash transactions accurately
- Lift mail containers of up to 50 lbs, push or pull boxes, sort mail, and stand for extended periods

Qualifications

- High school or provincial equivalency and/or experience in business administration
- Training and/or experience interacting with the public in a retail and/or service setting, including sales and cash transactions
- Understanding of general or post office accounting systems




- Physically fit to lift mail containers of up to 50 lbs, push or pull boxes, sort mail and stand for extended periods of time
- Flexibility to be available for temporary, on‑call work
- Bilingual (French and English) — Bilingual Imperative (--BB) language requirement

Other Requirements

- A character reference letter is required
- Security screening process required
- Ideal candidate should reside in the community or within a 50 km radius
- This position may be considered a Safety Sensitive position

High school diploma or provincial equivalency and/or experience in business administration; experience in a retail or public service environment including cash transactions; bilingual in French and English (Bilingual Imperative --BB); physically fit to lift up to 50 lbs.
