- Previous deskside or onsite technical support experience

Our client is currently seeking a qualified Desktop Technician to join their team onsite in Portage La Prairie, MB. The Technician will support a large-scale technology refresh project involving the imaging, preparation, deployment, and support of laptops and desktop computers. This is a hands-on Desktop Technician role that combines deployment activities with deskside support and hardware break/fix services. The technician will work closely with the project and Field Service teams to ensure devices are properly configured, deployed, and supported.

Duties And Responsibilities

- Image, configure, and prepare laptops and desktop computers for deployment
- Perform hardware refresh and replacement activities
- Set up and deploy laptops, desktops, monitors, docking stations, and related peripherals
- Provide deskside technical support to end users
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting, hardware break/fix, and repair activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve common Microsoft Windows operating system and application issues
- Support the Field Service team with onsite technical requirements as needed
- Follow established deployment procedures and maintain accurate documentation
- Communicate professionally with end users, project teams, and site contacts

Skills And Qualifications

- Hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting desktop and laptop hardware
- Strong knowledge of hardware break/fix and repair
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and related applications
- Experience with device imaging, configuration, and deployment
- Previous deskside or onsite technical support experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills




- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project and field service environment
- Ability to work onsite and handle or move IT equipment as required
