Canadian Tire Corporation is looking for a Cloud Data Platform Engineer to join their team in Toronto, Ontario . This is a senior, hands-on engineering role at the heart of Canadian Tire's Data, Analytics, and AI strategy — giving you the opportunity to shape the cloud platform infrastructure that powers one of Canada's most recognized retail organizations.
You’ll be working across a modern stack that includes Microsoft Azure , Databricks , Unity Catalog , and Azure Synapse Analytics , designing and building the platform capabilities that enable secure, scalable, and cost-effective data and AI workloads across the enterprise. If you thrive in a technically complex workplace and take pride in building things the right way — this one’s worth a look.
About the Role: Cloud Data Platform Engineer
At its core, this position is about engineering the backbone of Canadian Tire's cloud data ecosystem. You’ll design, build, deploy, and support enterprise cloud platform capabilities within Azure, with a heavy focus on Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform , CI/CD pipeline development through Azure DevOps, and PowerShell automation . The work spans reusable module development, standardized deployment patterns, and operational tooling that helps the broader team move faster and more reliably.
Beyond the hands‑on engineering work, you’ll also provide technical oversight across cloud engineering deliverables — conducting code reviews, establishing quality gates, and coaching junior and intermediate engineers. You’ll collaborate closely with architects, data engineers, security, infrastructure, and product teams, and be expected to communicate technical risks, dependencies,
and recommendations clearly to both technical colleagues and business stakeholders. A continuous improvement mindset and strong communication skills are just as important as your technical toolkit in this role.

Eligible employees also have access to mental health benefits of $5,000 per year as part of the enhanced flex benefits program, along with Canadian Tire Profit Sharing and retirement and savings programs.
