Reporting to the Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in the fabrication and assembly of structural steel at Walters Group. This position demands expertise in welding and a deep understanding of blueprints, as well as the capacity to mentor upcoming fitters. Ideal candidates will prioritize safety and excellence in their craft.
Key Responsibilities:
• Fabricate and fit structural steel components
• Perform daily crane checks for safety purposes
• Lay out steel according to specified blueprints
• Operate various welding and cutting equipment
• Mentor less experienced colleagues in safe practices
Requirements:
• 5+ years of structural steel fitting/welding experience
• Completion of a welding apprenticeship is an asset
• Must have current CWB certification for FCAW or MCAW
• Demonstrated ability to read blueprints
• Robust problem-solving and communication skills
