Network Development & Learning Coordinator Temporary - full-time contract, – 37.5 hours per week
Who are we?
While more food is not the solution to food insecurity, people still need support today. Not only do we collect and distribute more than six million pounds of food each year to a network of over 130 food banks, meal programs, and shelters, but we also support these members as they work the front lines of food insecurity. Together, along with other community organizations, we’re also working to discover new methods of combatting food insecurity and advocating for a better tomorrow.
No one should have to rely on charity to meet their most basic needs. We believe a food‑secure Nova Scotia—where all Nova Scotians have fair, dignified, and reliable access to food—is possible.
What is a Network Development & Learning Coordinator?
As a member of the Network Programs & Services Team, a Network Development & Learning Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting Feed Nova Scotia’s work to develop and promote learning within the network of member organizations. The role also tracks and benchmarks member engagement, participation, and uptake in activities and initiatives and gathers insight into challenges that prevent members from engaging in development and learning opportunities. What does a Network Development & Learning Coordinator do? The successful candidate will coordinate and support a range of network development and learning initiatives, working with members, staff and external partners to create accessible learning opportunities, facilitate knowledge exchange, and support member engagement and development.
- Coordinate and facilitate accessible virtual and in-person learning opportunities with internal and external subject‑matter experts.
- Lead and support development of relevant content, promote opportunities to members, and ensure delivery reflects inclusion, dignity, cultural responsiveness and JEDDI principles.
- Track participation and summarize outcomes and learning.
- Curate, develop and promote practical self‑serve learning resources through the Member Resource Library.
- Facilitate communities of practice and other exchanges that identify and share effective member approaches, solutions and emerging practices.
- Contribute to planning and delivering Spring Regional Meetings and Day of Sharing.
- Gather member learning needs, support agenda and session design, secure facilitators, and help deliver event programming.
- Participate in shared event responsibilities and attend scheduled events.
- Promote relevant grant opportunities and provide members with clear information and limited practical application support.
- Contribute ideas and content to Feed Nova Scotia proposals that advance network learning and development priorities.
- Identify barriers to member participation and share insights that may improve supports.
- Seek member input on priorities, preferred formats and barriers to participation.
- Monitor participation and resource use, gather feedback, and prepare quarterly summaries of engagement,
outcomes and learning.
- Use evidence and member perspectives to support continuous improvement.
- Participate in team and organizational planning, learning and communication practices.
- Maintain work plans, contribute to performance reporting and KPI information, and communicate effectively with staff, members and partners.
- Provide flexible support for emerging priorities within the scope and level of the role.
