- Position and drape patients, organize instruments and equipment, and pass materials to providers as directed.
- Coordinate tests, procedures, appointments, referrals, and consults with other facilities and departments.
- Contact and triage patients as requested to share test results, follow-up instructions, treatment changes, appointment details, and referral information.
- Place prescription orders and complete prior authorizations for medications, tests, and procedures based on provider documentation.
Keep each patient’s care connected and organized
- Maintain complete, accurate, and timely patient records,
including medical histories, treatment plans, progress notes, medication reconciliation, and care activities.
- Enter and track information in the EMR, including laboratory tests, pharmacy items, drug samples, family and social history, and full sets of vital signs.
- Obtain Advance Beneficiary Notices when required and complete other administrative functions as requested.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, families, providers, and colleagues to support safe, coordinated care.
- Screen calls and schedule appointments as directed by medical professionals.
Help create a safe, welcoming clinical environment
- Prepare treatment rooms with the supplies, materials, and equipment needed before each visit; clean, sanitize, and turn over rooms between patients.
- Clean and prepare instruments for autoclaving, manage procedure‑instrument and central‑sterile workflows, and sanitize medical tools and patient‑contact surfaces according to policy.
- Maintain equipment, complete required quality‑control checks, and ensure supplies and medications are properly stocked and current.
- Follow infection‑prevention practices, healthcare regulations, and facility policies to maintain a safe, clean workplace.
