Country Director – Insurance & Investments: Job Description

Role Summary

The Country Director – Insurance & Investments provides strategic leadership and overall management of country-level operations within the insurance and investment sectors. The role focuses on driving business growth, expanding market presence, overseeing insurance and investment services, managing financial performance, building strategic partnerships, and ensuring compliance with local financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities

- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement country-level business strategies, growth plans, and long-term objectives for insurance and investment operations.

- Business Development: Identify new market opportunities, expand distribution channels, and establish partnerships with insurers, banks, investors, brokers, and financial institutions.

- Insurance Operations: Oversee insurance product distribution, policy acquisition, renewals, claims coordination, and customer relationship management.

- Investment Management: Oversee investment-related operations, identify investment opportunities, monitor portfolio performance, and support asset growth, where applicable.

- Financial Management: Manage country budgets, financial forecasts, revenue generation, cost optimization, and profitability targets.

- Sales & Market Expansion: Drive insurance premium growth, investment product sales, customer acquisition, and market penetration.

- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial, operational, investment, and insurance-related risks.

- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to local insurance regulations, financial services laws, investment guidelines,



and anti-money laundering requirements.

- Stakeholder Relations: Maintain strong relationships with regulators, institutional investors, corporate clients, insurance providers, and strategic business partners.

- Team Leadership: Lead and develop country management, sales, investment, insurance, and operational teams to achieve business objectives.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Insurance, or a related field.

- MBA, master's degree, or relevant qualified certifications in insurance, finance, or investment management preferred.

- Typically 10–15+ years of experience in insurance, investments, financial services, or related industries, including senior management responsibilities.

- Proven experience in business strategy, country operations, financial performance management, and commercial growth.

- Strong understanding of insurance products, investment services, financial markets, and applicable regulatory frameworks.

- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic partnerships, manage budgets, lead teams, and achieve revenue targets.

- Excellent leadership, analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
