Country Director – Insurance & Investments: Job Description

Role Summary

The Country Director – Insurance & Investments is responsible for leading country-level operations, developing business strategies, and driving growth across insurance and investment services. The role focuses on increasing market share, improving financial performance, developing strategic partnerships, overseeing business operations, and ensuring compliance with applicable financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities

- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute country-level strategies to achieve business growth, profitability, and long-term organizational objectives.

- Business Development: Expand market presence, identify new business opportunities, and establish partnerships with insurers, investors, banks, brokers, and financial institutions.

- Insurance & Investment Operations: Oversee insurance product distribution, investment services, client portfolios, and operational performance, according to the company's business model.

- Financial Management: Manage budgets, revenue forecasts, operating costs, and financial performance to achieve country-level targets.

- Sales & Market Expansion: Drive customer acquisition, insurance premium growth, investment product sales, and distribution-channel development.

- Risk & Compliance: Ensure appropriate risk management and compliance with local insurance laws, investment regulations, and financial reporting requirements.

- Stakeholder Management: Maintain relationships with regulators,



institutional investors, corporate clients, insurance providers, and strategic partners.

- Team Leadership: Lead and develop management teams across business development, sales, operations, insurance, and investment functions.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Insurance, or a related field.

- MBA, master's degree, or relevant professional certifications preferred.

- Typically 10–15+ years of experience in insurance, investments, financial services, or related industries, including senior leadership experience.

- Proven track record in country management, strategic planning, business development, and financial performance management.

- Robust knowledge of insurance products, investment services, financial markets, and relevant regulatory requirements.

- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, develop strategic partnerships, expand market share, and achieve business targets.

- Excellent leadership, commercial, analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
