- Safely operate a cube van (International 4300 with 20 ft box, to be replaced by a class 3 Peterbilt this summer) to transport scrap metals/other commodities.
- Load and unload items from the van, ensuring proper handling and securing of the cargo. (Ratchet straps, chains, etc.)
- Follow delivery schedules and routes provided by the supervisor.
- Provide excellent customer service by making pick-ups in a timely and skilled manner.
- Communicate effectively with customers, addressing any concerns they may have.
- Complete paperwork relevant to pickups in a legible manner (how many items, identifying marks on bins, etc.)
- Perform daily pre-trip inspections.
- Skills:
- Valid Manitoba driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate a forklift is a plus.
- Customer service skills to interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks is imperative and non-negotiable.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with customers coworkers.
- Experience using pallet jack, sometimes moving items in excess of 2500lb.
- Fluency in the English language is imperative.
- Minimum 5 years of driving experience within Canada.
Pay: From $26.50 per hour
