Job Summary

The Smokin' Birds is a BBQ food truck serving meats, sandwiches, burgers and vegetables cooked over wood fire. We are a small team looking for a dedicated and reliable Prep/Line Cook. This role is essential in maintaining the smooth operation of our food truck. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not required. We are looking for a positive attitude with a willingness to learn. If you enjoy working in hospitality, we are a busy location with opportunities to learn and grow. Duties

- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to recipes and restaurant standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of food items




- Support the cooking team during meal service by providing timely ingredient prep and station setup
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Assist with inventory management and monitor expiration dates of ingredients

Skills

- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service is preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of food handling and safety procedures in a restaurant or kitchen setting
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members
- Familiarity with the food industry standards for cleanliness and safety
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
