Overview Existing Burlington based CPA practice is opening a satellite office in Niagara on the Lake. We are looking for an experienced tax preparer who is confident working independently and be client facing. Recent returns to be expected in Niagara on the Lake as well as handling existing clients from the Burlington office.

Duties

- Prepare individual, small business, rentals, investments and estates returns
- Review financial documents, including income statements, balance sheets, and expense reports to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Assist clients in understanding their tax obligations by explaining relevant tax laws and filing procedures clearly and professionally
- Conduct analysis of financial data to identify deductions, credits, and potential savings opportunities for clients
- Maintain detailed records of all client interactions, filings, and correspondence in compliance with confidentiality standards
- Support marketing efforts by engaging with clients to promote additional financial services or software solutions
- Stay updated on current tax laws and regulations to ensure all filings are compliant and optimized for clients’ benefit





Qualifications

- Proven experience in tax preparation, public accounting, or related financial roles with a focus on tax experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial concepts, and technical accounting practices
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and other financial management tools
- Excellent analysis skills combined with attention to detail for accurate data entry
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to diverse clients with excellent customer service skills
- Familiarity with bookkeeping processes and corporate accounting practices is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines during peak tax season
- Basic math skills combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Willingness to expand knowledge in Canadian income tax

Job Type : Seasonal Contract length: 2 months

Pay: $17.20-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
