Financial Controller

Location: East River, Nova Scotia (possible Hybrid position)

Salary : $50,000 - $95,000 Annually (Based on Experience)

Job Summary

A growing and diverse Nova Scotia-based shipyard and marine group is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations of a multi-entity organization.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee full-cycle accounting across multiple companies/entities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Lead budgeting, forecasting,



and cash flow planning
- Manage AP/AR, payroll, and general ledger
- Monitor project costing and profitability
- Develop and maintain internal financial controls and policies
- Coordinate year-end processes, audits, and tax filings
- Ensure compliance with CRA and regulatory requirements
- Support financing, lending, and investor reporting
- Provide financial insights to senior leadership

Qualifications

- CPA designation (or near completion) strongly preferred
- 5-10+ years accounting/finance experience
- Multi-entity or project-based experience preferred
- Strong reporting and cash flow skills
- Advanced Excel and accounting software experience

Pay: $50,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
